The Northern Mindanao Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (NOMCAARRD) will be participating in the 2023 National Science, Technology and Innovation week, an event organized by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), on November 22-26, 2023 which will be held in Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City. This week-long celebration will showcase the most notable achievements in science, technology, and innovation (STI) in the country.

The event will feature exhibitions, techno forums, and workshops, highlighting the pivotal role of STI in fostering wealth creation, protection, human well-being, and sustainability. The week will also serve as a platform for collaboration and partnership-building among key sectors, including the academic community, local government units (LGUs), and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

As DOST-PCAARRD co-exhibitor in this year’s celebration, NOMCAARRD aims to exhibit its noteworthy research and development products and technologies developed by the Consortium Member Institutions/Agencies. This endeavor will provide a platform for promotion, commercialization, knowledge-sharing and collaboration among stakeholders within the AANR industry, comprising farmers, researchers, and policymakers.

The consortium will be represented by its Director, Dr. Maria Estela B. Detalla, together with the R&D Cluster Coordinator, Prof. Sheila C. Poonon, the Technology Transfer Coordinator, Ms. Helen E. Panganiban, and the research staff, namely Ms. Hiedy S. CaΓ±ete and Khristine M. Sulatorio, which will also be the exhibitors. The consortium’s participation in this event highlights its commitment to promoting sustainable AANR in the region and in the country through science and technology.
