36th Regional Symposium on Research and Development Highlights (RSRDH)

December 3, 2024

Northwestern Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (NMSCST)

Labuyo, Tangub City, Misamis Occidental, Philippines

Theme: Advancing Sustainable Innovation: Fostering Research, Development, and Extension for Regional Growth”

Rationale

To serve its position as a prime mover for growth, science and technology must be implemented at all levels of productive operation. At NOMCAARRD, we commit ourselves to developing knowledge and providing innovative technologies through collaboration and networking to improve the agriculture, aquatic, forestry, and natural resources sectors (AAFNR). One of the ways by which we could fulfill this commitment is to continually be engaged in research and development (R&D) to bridge S&T gaps and affect development, especially in our sectors of concern.

The Regional Symposium on R&D Highlights (RSRDH) recognizes breakthroughs in R&D of our Consortium-Member Institutions (CMIs). It is also a venue where researchers, development workers, policymakers, farmers, fisherfolks, and other stakeholders convene, exchange views, and share experiences. In the process, linkage and possible collaborations are forged towards attaining a common goal of inclusive regional growth, with science and technology.

This annual event will also identify and recognize outstanding work in R&D, which will be submitted as entries to the 2023 PCAARRD Best R&D Papers Awards.

Objectives

  1. To evaluate R&D papers of the Consortium-Member Institutions (CMIs);
  2. To promote interaction between and among researchers, extension workers, local government, farmers & fisherfolks, and other clientele;
  1. To provide a venue for the discussion of the state-of-the-art R&D activities in the region;
  1. To disseminate technologies relevant to farmers and fisherfolks;
  2. To foster regional collaboration and information among member institutions; and,
  3. To establish the future direction of R&D in agriculture, aquatic, natural resources and the environment.
