NOMCAARRD CONDUCTS TRAINING ON EVENTS MANAGEMENT FOR RDE STAFF IN NORTHERN MINDANAO

August 28, 2024

The Northern Mindanao Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (NOMCAARRD) will conduct a 3-day Training on Events Management for the Research, Development and Extension (RDE) staff in Northern Mindanao on August 28-30, 2024 at De Luxe Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City. NOMCAARRD, as it plays a crucial role in advancing research and development (R&D) initiatives and in managing outputs of R&D in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sectors in Northern Mindanao, initiates and holds various events. These events include scientific conferences, workshops, product launches, and technology to people through FIESTA events and/or fairs, exhibits, media conferences, and farmers fora. The research, development, and extension (RDE) staff at the consortium member institutions (CMIs) have been in- charge of managing the events mentioned above. They, too, have been in-charge of managing non-R&D events in their respective agencies.

To effectively manage events, the consortium recognizes the importance of enhancing the knowledge and skills of the RDE staff in events

management by inviting them to attend a 3-day training. The training aims to enhance the staff’s

knowledge and skills in organizing events. It also intends to improve the participant’s knowledge and skills in event multimedia production, in designing effective communication strategies by implementing and refining coordination strategies through the strategic utilization of online collaborative tools, in facilitating meaningful interactions, in fostering collaborations, in creating a platform for knowledge exchange among other RDE staff in the region, and in establishing networks. After the training, the participants are expected to gain improved knowledge and skills in managing an event.
