The Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) conserves, propagates, and promotes the carabao as a source of draft animal power, meat, milk, and hide to benefit rural farmers. It is responsible for the promotion of profitable and sustainable carabao-based enterprises designed to improve farmers’ income through carabao-genetic improvement, technology development and dissemination, and ensuring better nutrition of rural farming communities. Republic Act No. 7307 (March 27, 1992), the Philippine Carabao Act of 1992, created the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) under the supervision and control of the Department of Agriculture.
